Camy Rosen Named Volunteer of the Semester for Autumn 2020

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2020/21 Volunteer of the Semester goes too… Camy Rosen (University of Stirling)! Read Camy’s story and her commitment to volunteering!

Well done to Camy Rosen (University of Stirling) who has been awarded the Volunteer of the Semester Award for semester one. The current Women’s Lacrosse Club President and member of the University of Stirling’s Sports Union Executive Committee has been given the award for her continuous dedication to volunteering within the student sport network in what has been a very difficult start to the 2020/21 academic year.

Despite living and working on the West Coast of America throughout the summer, Camy continued to call into Sports Union meetings as they prepared for a unique but challenging year ahead. Her dedication to student sport cemented the respect and support of her peers, who voted her onto the Sports Union Executive Committee as Club Presidents’ Representative.

In addition to her club and sport union duties, Camy also served as a Movember Ambassador for the men’s health and wellbeing campaign on campus. Camy helped in the cumulative effort of the sports union which has raised over £30,000 for Movember this year. This fantastic achievement is a testament to the collective of Movember volunteers including Camy to engage and mobilise students from all communities outwith and within the sports club environment.

On behalf of the SSS tribe, we would like to say a massive congratulations to Camy for all her efforts to support the health & wellbeing of her peers and her continuous work to build strong ties amongst clubs and societies on campus – keep up the great work!

Honourable mention to this semester’s other nominated student volunteers:

  • Kirsty Barnett – University of Glasgow
  • Lucy Cottee – University of St Andrews
  • Stewart Morgan – Heriot-Watt University
  • Sophie Weeden – University of Edinburgh
