Healthy Body Healthy Mind Awards
Let’s celebrate the success of the 21 Universities and College’s from across Scotland who took part in the 2018-19 Healthy Body Healthy mind awards!
The 2018-19 academic year saw 21 institutions from across Scotland take part in the Healthy Body Healthy Mind awards. To recap, the HBHM awards are a partnership initiative between NUS Scotland and Scottish Student Sport, funded by the Scottish Government, which focus on the link between sports, physical activity, smoking prevention and mental health. It was extremely positive to have not only existing institutions who have been involved since the beginning of the awards, but also those who have never taken part. It’s safe to say that the engagement and enthusiasm towards the project was greater than ever.
With a newly revised criteria, more resources and three HBHM events throughout the year to ensure as much support as possible, all 21 Universities and Colleges put in some of the best work we have seen to date. To conclude such a successful year, our SSS representative on the panel – Megan – took to the stage at our SSS Annual Awards dinner at Drygate Brewery to announce the awarded stars to each of the institutions who took part. A wonderful evening celebrating the hard work and success of those who took part over the past year.
Moving forward, as we move fast approach the 19/20 academic year it’s an exciting time for the project. As we review how to better the awards and take it forward in a new and improved direction, the future is looking bright. As a collective of SSS, NUS and Ash Scotland, we hope to streamline the project having taken on board our member’s feedback to deliver an up to date and exciting new criteria, framework and overall project.
