Applications open for the 2019/20 LTA’s University Ambassador Programme

SSS and Tennis Scotland are happy to announce that this season’s LTA University Ambassador Programme is now open for applications. Institutions are asked to submit an application form, nominating one student to take up the University ambassador role designed to promote and organise participation activity as well as workforce development in tennis at their institution. During their tenure as their institution’s ambassador particular focus will be placed on the development of non-BUCS competition offer.

Already involved in Higher Education Tennis?
The LTA invites students and staff involved in Tennis Development from across the UK to their annual training day on Sunday 27th October at Loughborough University Sport’s Tennis Centre from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
Staff can registered their interest by emailing email@example.com, students can register via the above application form.
Looking for more competition offers outside of BUCS for your students?
Again this season, the LTA will be offering two additional competitions specifically for student who are unable to compete in the BUCS programme.
University Development Leagues:
Designed for players who want a competitive experience very similar to BUCS. Run using the FAST4 scoring system, this competition replicates the BUCS leagues format with singles and doubles matches. Run by university contacts supported by LTA League organisers regionally, these development leagues include scheduled fixtures, consistent format, and results contributing to league standards and ratings.

Recreation offer in a variety of formats, this competition is best for students with little or no competition experience to be introduced to tennis in fun and social environment. Entries and details on how to set up a competition at your institution can be found here.
Entries for both competitions should be completed by Sunday 22nd September.
