Coronavirus Statement – Update

SSS have decided to cancel all activity up until the end of the 2019/20 season.

National Squad activity is included in the aforementioned cessation – a full update is provided below.

The SSS office is now closed and all our staff will be working from home for the foreseeable future. Therefore the main SSS Office phones will be out of use. Should you need to contact any of our staff please reach out via email – a list of contact details for all our staff can be found here.

BUCS Programme – League Updates

BUCS competition staff will be discussing all possible options on how to conclude the season following this suspension with the national competitions committee as well as the BUCS Advisory board over the next few days. Please, therefore, stay tuned for a further update sent directly from the BUCS office when a decision has been made.

As it stands, all BUCS sporting and non-sporting activity has been cancelled from Tuesday 17th March to Wednesday 1st April.

SSS League Updates

  • Shinty – Following the suspension of all domestic Shinty league activity by the Camanachd Association, all remaining SS Shinty leagues fixtures for the 2019-20 season are to be cancelled.
  • Swimming – SSS has decided to cancel all remaining SS Swimming league fixtures for the 2019-20 season

College National Finals

The College National Finals Day is now cancelled and therefore no further fixtures are to take place.

1st April | Football Finals Day – Cancelled

1st April | Littlejohn and McHue Porter Shinty Tournament – Cancelled

11th April | Enduro Championships (Cycling) – Cancelled

12th April | Triathlon Championships – Cancelled

18th April | Criterium Championships (Cycling) – Cancelled

18th April | Outdoor Archery Championships – Cancelled

19th April | Archery Head to Head – Cancelled

19th April | 10km Road Race Championships – Cancelled

25th – 26th April | Outdoor Rowing Championships – Cancelled

26th April | Duathlon Championships – Cancelled

6th May | Cross Country Hill Race Championships – Cancelled (N.B. Stirling to release a full statement soon on whether the Dumyat will be going ahead in full or not, but the student aspect is cancelled)

9th May | Beach Volleyball Championships – Cancelled

23rd May | Athletics Outdoor Championships – Cancelled

National Squads – Update

As mentioned above, SSS has made the decision to cancel all SSS activity for the rest of the 1920 season. Therefore, the following national squad activity will no longer be going ahead as planned:

  • 28th March – Women’s Football Training (Cancelled)
  • 29th March – Men’s Cricket Trials (Cancelled)
  • 4th April – Men’s Cricket Trials (Cancelled)
  • 12th April – Men’s Football Training (Cancelled)
  • 13th to 15th April – Men’s and Women’s Football Tournament (Cancelled)
  • 17th April – Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament (Cancelled)
  • 6th May – Men’s Cricket Tournament (Cancelled)
  • 16th May – Men’s and Women’s International Match (Cancelled)
  • 25th May – Men’s Cricket MCC Match (Cancelled)
  • 17th – 19th June – Men’s Cricket Cambridge Tour (Cancelled)
