#ScotStuRugby | Fixture Highlights

The nights are getting shorter and shorter, but there’s still plenty of Scottish Student Rugby to keep you going.

In the Men’s 1A league, Dundee travelled well to record a shock win over St Andrews. Fifth-placed Dundee trailed out 30-21 winners over second placed St Andrews.

That result is good news for Aberdeen 1st XV, who beat their 2nd’s 80-0 to continue their unbeaten streak and force themselves into an even more commanding position, six wins from six, and extending to an eleven point lead over the nearest competition.

The derby in the capital saw Heriot-Watt use their home advantage to beat Edinburgh 2’s by 22-0. The win sees Heriot-Watt tie St Andrews in second place, with win differential being the only thing separating the two sides.

In the Women’s 1A league, Aberdeen retain their marginal lead at the top of the table with a 33-5 over struggling Dundee.

Glasgow’s 60-0 away win vs. Napier’s ladies has taken them to an identical points tally with league leaders Aberdeen, with a game in hand to boot. Napier remain in 5th, their earlier win, and two losing bonus points being the keeping them above the bottom spot.

Third played fourth in St Andrews as the home team ran out 27-12 winners vs. Stirling, making no difference the middle of the league table. The league remains wide open, as third placed St Andrews sit just one point behind the two tied leading teams.

League leaders are beginning to consolidate, and the next few fixtures will certainly start to show who is vying for promotion this season, so get down to your local men’s or women’s game next week.
