Webinar | Engaging the Inactive

The return of the BiteSSSize Best Practice webinar series will look at how to engage the wider student population and encourage more people to live more active lives.

In 2019/20 over 40,000 students took part in club sport across Scotland’s universities and colleges. But how do we create more opportunities for staff and students who are not currently engaged in sport and physical activity? The latest of the BiteSSSize Best Practice webinar series explores some examples of how to get more people active.

This year may not have started how we would’ve hoped but this latest webinar will look at ways of increasing the number of students and staff involved in regular physical activity. In October, we explored the positive impact of regular exercise on mental health and this has become an increasingly important area of focus for SSS members and Scottish governing bodies.

In this webinar, the Tribe will hear from Sarah Robertson, Health Promotion Manager at Oriam and Fraser Johnston, Club Development Manager at Scottish Cycling. The panel will demonstrate their experience of working on projects to engage new students and reach out to those who are not already engaged in sport and physical activity.

The panel will also be joined by Ian Lowe, SSS’ new Head of Development. Ian will bring a wealth of experience from his background in student sport and services.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday 19th January, 4-5pm.
