You might want to know…

  • Badminton can be played as both an individual and team sport. Throughout the academic year college and university students can enter teams into the BUCS mixed, women’s and men’s leagues.

  • If team events are not your thing, but you still want to compete, you can play in the BUCS National Championships in singles, doubles and mixed doubles against colleges and universities throughout the UK. Lucky individuals can then progress to playing in Europe and beyond in the European and World University Championships.

  • We also run the Scottish College and University Championships where students from across the country come together to compete in the two-day event covering singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The event is one of the most popular in the calendar year and is followed by a social ceilidh and night out.

As Emma works to create an enjoyable badminton programme for all students, she also works as a Promotions and Events Coordinator for a charity organising events for individuals with learning disabilities, in addition to being an Early Years Educator.
