A Game for Everyone

Who plays? The Scottish student leagues comprises around 35 men’s and women’s teams, with many universities fielding second, third or even fourth teams.

What is there? Teams within BUCS premier league compete in the BUCS Championships, with those in the Scottish Leagues competing in the BUCS Trophy or Conference, eventually leading to matches against the best Rugby-playing universities in Britain.

When does all this happen? Matches are played on Wednesday afternoons, between October and April, with a Christmas break.

National Programme Overview 

The Scottish Student XV’s Men’s programme has recently been resurrected, with trials taking place ahead of matches played in semester 2.

National Programme Overview – Scottish Student 7’s

The Scottish Student 7s programmes, both men and women, are run in Home Nation years with the squad selected through semester 2 trials and the competition being run as a one day tournament within the bigger multisport Home Nations competition.

 

Nominations information will be released in due course. It is anticipated that the 15s programme men’s trials will take place at the University of Dundee over the weekend of October 21st/22nd.
