You will be degree qualified in a Sport Science discipline and have a significant and sustained track record of developing and delivering applied services to performance athletes across a variety of mediums.

Join the University of Edinburgh’s dynamic Lacrosse Club! Seeking passionate individuals for Head and Assistant Coach positions. Shape the future of student-athletes and lead the teams to success.

Role Description

This is a contracted role for a Head and Assistant Lacrosse Coach. The successful candidate will lead and oversee team practices, attend BUCS and Scottish League matches, develop and implement training plans and curricula, oversee player development, and provide mentorship to other coaches. The Head Lacrosse Coach will also be responsible for completing administrative tasks associated with the role and be responsible for selecting a team each week for matches. The position is located in Edinburgh and is an on-site role.

The candidates can expect a salary of £20-30 P/H.

Qualifications

  • Lacrosse Coaching and Training skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing training plans and curricula
  • Excellent Communication skills for working with players, coaches, and the committee
  • A knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of lacrosse
  • Experience coaching at the high school, college, or professional level
  • Ability to effectively mentor and develop assistant coaches
  • Ability to contribute to the overall growth and development of the club
  • UK Coaching Certificate or equivalent qualification

Additional Skills:

  • Strength and Conditioning qualification
  • Gym Coach or equivalent qualification

About the Club

Edinburgh University Women’s Lacrosse Club is one of the largest lacrosse clubs in the UK, with five teams competing in BUCS and a growing beginners programme. The club was formed in 1926 and also competes in the Scottish League on weekends. For contact please email: lacrosse@ed.ac.uk.
