The 2022/23 Leadership Programme is now closed for applications. However, please read the details below for information on the programme. If you are interested in becoming involved in the programme in the future either as a member or presenter please contact our Learning and People Coordinator.
The Leadership Programme provides a platform for student personal development, with a particular emphasis on enhancing leadership and employability skills. Students are encouraged to reflect on experiences, apply new concepts to real-life settings, and network throughout the course of the programme. This year leaders will have the opportunity to hear from experienced members of the SSS network, learn from external consultant and leadership expert – Guy Richardson and have a platform to discuss their learnings. Also new to this year, leaders will be required to volunteer at two events over the year, this physical opportunity to develop will help leaders put teaching into practice in a sporting environment. Previous graduates of the programme have moved on to part time or full time elected sport roles and professional roles within sports organisations.

Who
We are looking to recruit motivated, ambitious and hardworking individuals who are determined to make a positive impact within sport at
their institution. The programme is a good fit for students with aspirations to undertake and/or develop a key voluntary role at their institution.
Students should be involved in student sport as a participant or volunteer however, there is no requirement for them to be studying a sports-related course. SSS Leaders should be committed to developing their leadership skills.
