BUCS Centralised Fencing Weekend

This marks the first of 2 weekends we will be holding BUCS Fencing Fixtures centrally for clubs in Scotland during the 22-23 season.

Date: 22nd-23rd October 2022

Venue: The Wee Hub, Ocean Terminal

Fixture Times and Results: Men’s fixtures can be viewed HERE and Women’s fixtures can be viewed HERE

Elibility and Licences: All competing fencers must have a valid student card AND an in-date Recreational or Competitive British Fencing Licence. If a fencer does not have these, they can’t compete. These will all be checked on Saturday morning before fencing begins

Fee: There are costs involved in hosting the fixtures centrally, therefore all teams involved are asked to pay an additional £200 supplement to covere these costs. These will be invoiced to the Sports Unions of the clubs involved

Key Information:

• Weapon Carrying – The main part of Ocean Terminal is a shopping centre not a sports venue. Please do not wander round the shopping centre part with your fencing weapons and if you do make sure they covered or in a bag
• First Aid – MX Medical will be at the event providing first aid cover
• Armourers – Scottish Armourers will be at the event to fix weapons. Please note that some equipment fixes will need payment to fix
• Shower Access – There are only a few changing rooms within The Wee Hub and no showers, so we have negotiated access to Pure Gym’s changing rooms and showers for no cost to anyone fencing this weekend at these times only* (*If any fencers have a Pure Gym membership they can access them at any time):
  • Saturday 1000-1100 and 1700-1900
  • Sunday 1100-1200 and 1600-1800

The Pure Gym is located directly above The Wee Hub on the second floor of Ocean Terminal. There is bag storage space near the fencing space and also on the floor below the fencing space

Team Sheets:  A reminder that all teams need to ensure their team sheets are updated on BUCSPlay before the matches, otherwise you will incur a penalty
