Scottish Student Netball are delighted to bring back the SS Netball Championships after a 3-year break, in a re-launch of the event designed for institutions’ first teams competing in BUCS. This will be a highly competitive event taking place at Oriam, with each institution battling it out on court to see who will be crowed SS Netball Champions 2022!

Venue: Oriam, Heriot Watt

Timings: Registration 0930 with first matches beginning at 1000. The event will finish no later than 1700. Full timetable will be released after entries close

Eligibility: All Scottish Universities & Colleges with Netball clubs are invited to put their 1st team into the tournament. 2nd and 3rd teams will be considered by the organisers and will be informed if they are accepted. All 2nd teams will be considered before any 3rd team is considered.

Umpires: We ask that ALL teams bring a confident C umpire (or B umpire) with them to cover matches as no umpires will be provided by SS Netball. Umpires will not be paid by SS Netball (in order to keep entry costs down). If you need to go externally (i.e. outside your club) to seek your umpires, please know it is the teams’ responsibility to pay that umpire fee

Table officials must be provided by teams.

If you are having troubles getting an umpire/table officials please contact the Netball Chair ASAP

Equipment: Please bring warm up balls and a match ball with you. Please wear your club playing dresses and patches or bring a set of bibs per team. Please wear non-marking trainers that are suitable for playing on an indoor court. Teams will be asked to assist with scoring and timing, so please ensure you have access to a stopwatch, scorecards and pen

Entries: Please click HERE to enter on SSS Playwaze

Team Entry: Please pay to enter your team on the system, then encourage your players to sign up to SSS Playwaze and join the team, so we know who to expect (see below). Each team is allowed up to 12 players on their team sheet.

If you wish to enter more than one team, please let the Netball Chair know and we will operate a waiting list to balance numbers. 1st teams are prioritised and we’ll accept 2nds (or 3rds) depending on entry numbers and what we can fit in to the draw.

Player Entry: Players need to sign up to the SSS Playwaze system individually so we have a record of them on the team sheet. They should follow the steps in this How To Guide to sign up, then join the netball community before finding their team and joining.

Entry Cost: £60 per team (£5 per player if you bring 12 players!)

Entry Deadline: Midday Sunday 27th March 2022

Payment: You will be able to pay by card on this system. If you wish to request support from your Sports Union to cover the cost of your attendance, please click ‘Defer Payment’ and this will send them an invoice request.
