Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th March (new date)
Squash Championships
Oriam, Heriot Watt University

The Scottish Student Squash Championships returns! Please note that we have altered the event date to March due to issues with clashing calendars.
The event will take on a graded format in order to guarantee at least 3 matches, against players of similar abilities – so anyone can enter!
Venue: Oriam, Heriot Watt University
Date: Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th March (please note: this has been altered from 4th-5th February due to a calendar clash)
Time: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your match is due to start (see draw times below), noting our new Lateness Policy (please find below)
Cost: £10 per player
Entries: Entries are now open on the SSS Playwaze sytem (see our Playwaze ‘How To’ Guide)
Entry Deadline: 4pm on 17th March 2023
Eligibility: All entrants should be currently matriculated at a SSS-affiliated university or college as per the SSS Event Terms and Conditions. Players will be ranked by their Sports Unions to aid in the draw, prior to the event
Pre-Event Information: Please click HERE
Draw and Results: Draw and results can be found HERE. Please click HERE for our medallists
Registration Time and Lateness: Please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your first match time and sign in at the registration desk at the courts. Please note that matriculation cards must be shown at registration. No entries will be accepted on the day.
A new Lateness Policy has been brought in this year to ensure the smooth running of the event. Please take note of this:
- 1-14 minutes late on court for published match time = no penalty (but discouraged as this is disrespectful to the organisers and your opponent)
- 15-29 minutes late on court for published match time = 2-point penalty (two points automatically awarded to your opponent before the match starts)
- 30 mins late on court for published match time = forfeiture of the match and the win being given to your opponent
Players may not be penalised should the SS Squash Chair deem there were reasonable circumstances leading to lateness, and if advanced warning was provided, but this leniency is at their discretion and is not guaranteed.
Contact: All enquiries regarding this event should be directed to our SS Squash Chair, Matthew Bedwell, on ssssquashchair@gmail.com
