Many Student Hockey Clubs take part in local, regional and national leagues, both indoor and outdoor, providing a variety of opportunities to play hockey for a wide range of abilities during the course of the season.

  • BUCS leagues, coordinated by SSS, boast 4 men’s leagues and 7 women’s leagues with many universities having two to three teams playing each season. Each year, the men’s and women’s teams also compete in the Conference Cup, a knock-out competition with the eventual winner decided at the SSS Conference Cup Finals. In addition, some women’s teams also take part in the Conference Trophy knock-out competition.

Meet your Sports Chair & Development Group

Niamh is currently a Communications Project Manager at sportscotland having previous held a similar role at Snowsports Scotland. Prior to that she was Sports President at Aberdeen University.

Hockey is a mainstay throughout her life either as a player or as a volunteer administer. She is currently Club Secretary at Watsonians Hockey Club. Niamh is supported by the following Development Group Members:
