Join the team: Scottish Student Volleyball are recruiting for a new Workforce Officer to join the active Development Group.

Scottish Student Sport (SSS), the governing body for student sport in Scotland, is seeking an energetic and committed individual to act as one of the lead volunteers within Scottish Student Volleyball.

The Development Group coordinate event delivery, communicate with student clubs and participants, and work with Scottish Volleyball to enhance the student sporting experience.


Workforce Officer

The selected individual will be a key figure in driving the recruitment and retention of officials and coaches, supported by SSS staff. This will see you become part of the Reffin’ Brilliant programme.

You will also support SS Volleyball events, contribute to the generation of a Volleyball Sport Development Plan, and work with the group to identify key areas of work for the coming year.

We’re recruiting for 4x roles this summer to join the ambitious Scottish Student Basketball Development Group. Apply now!

Scottish Student Basketball are on the lookout for four new individuals to join the dynamic Development Group. The roles are:

  • Chair
  • Communications Officer
  • College Representative
  • Student Representative

Supported by a Scottish Student Sport (SSS) member of staff, the committee work to help run student basketball activity in Scotland including events and development work.


Chair

As Chair you will lead the Development Group, including up to 4x meetings per year, plus oversee all group members project work.

There will be a responsibility to manage the Scottish Student Basketball action plan, recruit new members to the Development Group, and develop the sport’s calendar alongside SSS staff.

Communications Officer

Leading on all things communications, in this role you will manage a variety of communication channels to showcase your sport and engage the student membership.

You will also support in key events such as Basketball National Finals, and contribute to the wider Development Group’s goals.

Student Representative

You will communicate on a regular basis with the club captains of student clubs to canvass their opinions, representing them in Development Group meetings.

There will also be opportunities to support in the delivery of key SSS events, like Conference Finals and Basketball National Finals, and to assist in the delivery of ongoing development projects.

This development-orientated role will help establish and maintain links with colleges across the country, and support in developing basketball programmes in these institutions.

This is your chance to join the exciting Scottish Student Football Development Group as the Vice Chair or Student Representative, helping shape the sport in Scotland.

Scottish Student Football are recruiting for a new Vice Chair and Student Representative to sit on a dynamic Development Group, helping shape the sport across Scotland.

The Group work together to help coordinate event delivery, communicate with student clubs, and provide a vital link between students and the SFA via club development and knowledge-sharing.

Together, they work to enhance and develop the student football landscape to provide competitions for clubs to participate in, alongside development opportunities, with the assistance of SSS staff members.


Vice Chair

You will work to support the Chair in helping deliver the long-term vision of Scottish Student Football. This will see you act as a representative for the student footballing voice to ensure the needs of participants are being met, and if not how they can be developed.

You will also explore the opportunities available to Scottish Student Football and how these can be furthered with the support from the SFA and SSS.

Two exciting opportunities arisen to join Scottish Student Archery as their new Vice Chair (Competitions) and Communications Officer ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Scottish Student Archery Development Group is responsible for the creation and delivery of student archery. It consists of representatives of the membership, Scottish Archery and Scottish Student Sport and its purpose is to determine the needs of the Student Archery Membership and provide valuable opportunities.


Vice Chair (Competitions)

SS Archery Vice Chair is responsible to support the delivery of the Scottish Student Archery Calendar. This involves working with Scottish Archery and Scottish Student Sport to determine and deliver appropriate development opportunities for students, as well as to support the running of SS Archery Competitions.

This role provides the opportunity to shape the future of Student Archery as part of the SS Archery Development Group.

Communications Officer

As the Communications Officer your main responsibility will be to support the Archery Chair and SSS by publicising the sport and its activity (e.g. posting on social media channels).

Join Scottish Student Boxing to help grow the sport across Scottish institutions as the new Communications Officer.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Scottish Student Boxing as their new Communications Officer ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Scottish Student Boxing’s Development Group is responsible for the development and promotion of the sport across the Scottish Environment. This will offer excellent opportunities to work alongside key partners to deliver long term success for boxing in Scotland.


Communications Officer

As the Communications Officer your main responsibility will be to support the SS Boxing Chair and SSS by publicising the sport and its activity (e.g. posting on social media channels).

Your other responsibilities are taking minutes from the SS Boxing Meetings, ensuring regular communication between the Chairs and clubs, promotion of club activities via the SS Boxing channels, promotion of Scottish Boxing material and working with the SSS Communications Coordinator on the general promotion of Boxing as a whole.

The Vice Chair will support the Chair and SSS staff to coordinate event delivery of the XC Winter Series, attend events, and communicate with student participants to ensure engagement across institutions.

Become part of Scottish Student Futsal! We are recruiting for a new Chair, and 2x Student Representatives (mens and womens).

Women's Futsal

Scottish Student Futsal are in search of a new Chair, and 2x Student Representatives to help shape the sport for students in 2024/25.

Scottish Student Lacrosse Development Group is responsible for the creation and delivery of student futsal. The group work together with SSS and other partners to support participation, competitive activity, and futsal opportunities across Scotland.


Chair

The Chair is responsible for guiding the work of Scottish Student Futsal and advancing the sport across the student environment in Scotland

You will support SSS in the delivery of the BUCS Futsal Centralised League fixtures with opportunities to raise the profile of student futsal on a national scale. You will also commit to enhance the student futsal experience and further develop the sport through liaising with the SFA, SS Football Chair and other relevant partners.
